At $220 the Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.8 is not really an expensive lens to have, but if you want to go down even further moolah wise then the Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 could do it for you. priced at $82, the lens has now been made available at eBay. The one for Canon DSLRs was launched last year.
But there’s a compromise. Don’t expect the Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 to give you the same picture quality as its Nikon counterpart, but at $82 it’s not bad either. This full frame lens is actually quite good for taking portraits, doing street photography and taking pictures in low light conditions. The lens does have an autofocus (how well that works we don’t know yet) and weighs in at 200g. It comes with special glass coating for reducing flares and has a minimum focus distance of 1.48 feet (0.45 meters).
