Nikon 100th Year Commemorative Sets Announced

Remember this? Most of our readers were drooling when we first broke the news of Nikon having special commemorative sets for 100th year of its existence. At that time we weren’t really sure if these sets would be up for purchase by the everyday photographer. But now we can confirm that these Nikon 100th year commemorative sets would be up for sale on the date of its 100th year anniversary i.e. July 25th in limited numbers. So what’s all Nikon is offering in this? Let’s take a look.

The Nikon 100th year commemorative sets consists of

Dark metallic grey Nikon D5 full frame and D500 APS-C DSLRs. While the Nikon D5 would be offered with a special anniversary edition booklet, the Nikon D500 would come with an exclusive metal case which has an engraved plate with Nikon’s commemorative logo and the camera’s serial number. The case would also have a commemorative body cap and leather straps – both with Nikon 100th year logo on them.

A trio of Nikon famed F2.8 lenses are also on offer. The trio includes the AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED and AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR lenses apart from the Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8E, which would also be offered as a stand alone anniversary model. All these lenses have been given an extremely stylish dark gray color and special anniversary commemorative model numbers.

Also on offer are Nikon special edition binoculars. It includes the WX 7×50 IF, WX 10×50 IF and 8×30 E II. Same metallic gray finish can be seen on these too.

Other things include Nikon 100th Anniversary Premium Camera Strap, Nikon 100th anniversary commemorative pin badge collection and Nikon 100th Anniversary Crystal Creation Nikon Type I.

Pricing of these sets have not been announced yet, but be prepared to shell out some hefty bucks if you want one of these..
