Another day and another DxOMark result is out. This time the medium format Hasselblad X1D-50C’s sensor was put under the lens and it passed the test in flying color. In fact, according to DxOMark, the Hasselblad X1D-50C has a slightly better sensor compared to the Nikon D850 as it has scored an impressive 102 against D850’s 100.
But this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone and we are sure Nikon isn’t going to lose any sleep over it. This is simply because, the X1D-50C is a completely different camera than the D850 and the huge price gap between them means that hardly anyone is going to switch over to the Hasselblad model from what Nikon is offering.
Also the X1D is a medium format mirrorless and the Nikon D850 is a full-frame DSLR. But on one point where medium format mirrorless should have an upper hand is in the color it produces, but here the D850 performs better than the X1D. On low ISO performance though, the X1D excels over the D850. For details on the test of Hasselblad x1D-50C do visit the DxOMark site.
