Days after a short instructional video gave us our first look, new images and specs of the upcoming GoPro Hero 5 have been leaked online. These images gives a better look at the camera and provides a better understanding of its design and other features.
Design wise, it seems the GoPro Hero 5 will stick to GoPro’s tried and tested design formula and won’t have anything substantially new. It will basically carry forward Hero 4‘s design features. It’s rectangular with the lens and a front screen being located at their same respective corners, but the front power button is absent. From this leak and the leaks that took place earlier, it seems the GoPro Hero 5 will come with touchscreen feature. The biggest visual difference in the Hero 5 is that it has done away with the traditional silver and black color tone and instead adopts a much drabber all black rubber box look.
The GoPro Hero 5 will come with same water proofing capabilities as the Hero 4 and will most probably come with the same imaging chip as its predecessor. It might also have the same video resolution as the Hero 4, which means the highest quality video would be shot at 4K at 3fps and going down to 720 pixels at 120fps. But both the chip and the video resolution may see some changes made by the time the camera comes out. But as of now this is the information we have.
The Hero 5 will have image stabilization as well as GPS and voice control. Rumors also have it that the battery will see an improvement and will be a 1220 mAh one. But will these feature satisfy GoPro lovers? What do you think? Do let us know in the comment section below.
